Dr. Jiyoung Moon is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Counseling and Human Services at St. Mary's University School of Education. As a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor (LPC-S) and Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor (RPT-S), her clinical work focuses on trauma across all ages, including physical/sexual trauma and developmental/generational trauma. She integrates advanced training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) into her practice.
Her research examines play therapy applications, trauma-informed interventions, and multicultural issues in counseling. Dr. Moon holds a Ph.D. from St. Mary's University, an M.S. from Sookmyung Women's University (South Korea), and teaches courses on counseling techniques, group process, and play therapy methodologies.
