Sandra Doveson is an Assistant Professor and Registered Nurse at Sophiahemmet University's Department of Nursing Science. She specializes in oncology nursing, particularly focusing on symptom management and patient experiences in metastatic castration-refractory prostate cancer (mCRPC). Her ongoing research project involves studying men's expectations, symptoms, and decision-making experiences during life-prolonging treatments for mCRPC, following 150 participants over two years using mixed methodologies.
Her academic background includes an MD and extensive clinical experience. Key research interests include patient-centered care, healthcare interventions for chronic diseases, and mental health support systems. She has contributed to studies on fear of hypoglycaemia in diabetes, continuity of midwifery care, and trauma management among healthcare workers during the pandemic.
