Sandra Cassotta is an Associate Professor in International, Environmental, and Energy Law at Aalborg University (Denmark), where she holds positions in The Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Department of Law. She also serves as Adjunct Professor at Western Sydney University (Australia), Fellow at Sustainability College Bruges (Belgium), and Expert Research Fellow at the Institute for Security and Development Policy (ISDP, Sweden). Her roles include Lead Author on Environmental Governance and Polar Regions for the IPCC (UN) and membership in governmental panels like the Academy of Finland.
Education: PhD and Master’s degrees in Law and Political Science.
Research Interests: Environmental damage liability, multi-level governance of environmental regimes, Arctic Ocean security, energy geopolitics, and interdisciplinary approaches combining law with international relations, economics, and climate science. Key focuses include human rights, UNCLOS (Law of the Sea), and climate change adaptation.
