Sander Corssmit is a Principal Educator and Lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Amsterdam since August 2021. He focuses on self-regulated learning, educational mentoring, and programmatic assessment within medical education. His work emphasizes fostering intrinsic motivation and lifelong learning skills in students through metacognitive strategies and authentic learning environments.
He collaborates with the Teaching & Learning Centre (TLC) to develop initiatives such as mentor training programs for Master of Medicine students. His research interests include the integration of coaching techniques, intervisie (peer review), and the application of self-determination theory in education. He co-created factsheets on self-regulated learning and motivation with Lida van der Merwe, reflecting his commitment to translating educational theory into practice.
