Sanda Üllen is a lecturer at the Institute for Cultural and Social Anthropology, University of Vienna, specializing in migration and memory studies with regional focuses on Southeast Europe and transnational Bosnian communities. She holds a PhD from the University of Vienna (2017) and has conducted extensive research on post-war Bosnian-Herzegovinian contexts, transnational families, and the intersection of memory and mobility. Her work bridges cultural anthropology with political and educational dimensions.
Research highlights include investigations into family homes as memory sites, migration representation in schools, and refugee integration dynamics. She has participated in EU-funded projects like 'Contesting Multiculturalism' (2007) and 'Migration(s) in Textbooks' (2011–2013). Notable collaborations include work with ICMPD and the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute.
Her presentations span global conferences, including the Memory Association Annual Conference (2017), IAGS (2013), and EASA (2010). She has held visiting fellowships at the University of Graz's Southeast European Studies Center (2016) and frequently engages in public lectures on diaspora studies and post-conflict societies.
