Sanaz Orandi

Sanaz Orandi is a Geoscientist and Researcher at the University of Adelaide, currently serving as Researcher Support Manager (Post Award) within the Division of Research and Innovation. She specializes in Geochemistry, Mineralogy, Hydrogeology, and Environmental Science, with extensive experience in acid mine drainage (AMD) remediation, wastewater treatment, and bioremediation. Her work includes contributions to the Australian Research Council (ARC) discovery project on Iron-Ore Copper Gold deposits and management of the PRIF Mining Consortium Program. She has led geochemical assessments for mine development and closure planning, emphasizing practical solutions for environmental challenges.

Dr. Orandi’s research interests span Acid Mine Drainage mitigation, water quality management, phytoremediation, and Space Mining innovations. She has supervised graduate research on sustainable water treatment using Moringa oleifera and actively participates in professional committees like AusIMM and Women in Mining (WIMnet). Her expertise in Health, Safety, and Wellbeing coordination, laboratory management, and mentoring further underscores her commitment to fostering academic and professional development.
