Dr Samuel Fanous is the Head of Publishing at the Bodleian Library, University of Oxford. He leads a team responsible for the library's publishing programme, specializing in trade titles and the scholarly journal Bodleian Library Record. The imprint focuses on cultural publishing, emphasizing editorial standards and materiality, distributed globally through partnerships with Yale UP and University of Chicago Press.
In research, he focuses on Medieval English literature, including visionary writing, autobiographical texts, and hagiography. Current projects include a volume on Margery Kempe and autohagiography, and a new translation of The Revelations of the Monk of Eynsham with Henrietta Leyser. He advises scholars on transforming research into accessible publications and served on the Advisory Board for the Chicago Manual of Style (17th ed).
His work bridges academic and public engagement, leveraging Oxford’s resources to deliver culturally significant publications to global audiences.
