Samuel Cohen serves as an Associate Professor and Associate Chair in the English Department at the University of Missouri. He completed his PhD in 2003 from The Graduate Center, The City University of New York. Cohen is an active scholar and educator specializing in twentieth- and twenty-first century American literature and culture.

Cohen's research focuses on 20th & 21st American literature, popular music, the history of academic publishing, and critical university studies. He has directed Honors Theses and Honors Problems and taught Honors Seminars and sections of his course on Missouri Writers.
