Dr. Sam McIntosh is a Guest Professor at the Centre for British Studies, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, focusing on English Law, British Economy, and Politics. His research emphasizes human rights obligations related to migrant and refugee deaths, coroners' systems, and media-courts relations. He holds a PhD from City, University of London (2016), an LLM in Public International Law (Edinburgh University, with distinction), and an MA in Spanish and European History. A qualified lawyer in England/Wales, he has extensive experience in human rights litigation, including civil actions against state authorities and inquests.

Teaching includes Constitutional Law, English Legal System, Contract Law, and Commercial Law at the GBZ. His interdisciplinary research bridges law, transitional justice, and recognition theory.
