Sam Luis Massaro is an Instructional Assistant Professor of Performance in the Department of Theatre & Film at the University of Mississippi. He holds a B.F.A. in Acting from Florida State University (2012) and an MFA in Drama from the University of California, Irvine (2017). His work focuses on classical theatre and amplifying underrepresented voices through performance, exemplified by his role as Artistic Director of Circuit Theatre Company in Chicago. He has collaborated with renowned institutions like American Players Theatre and Bedlam Theatre, and his film/TV credits include VICE and Forgive and Forget.
Sam teaches courses such as Intro to Acting, Acting Shakespeare, and Business of Acting & Auditioning. His professional practice integrates pedagogy with performance, emphasizing inclusive approaches to classical texts. He co-directed Richard II for Circuit Theatre Company and continues to advocate for diverse representation in theatre.
