Sam Armstrong is a Senior Tutor in Keyboard Chamber Music at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. A British pianist recognized for his individuality and artistry, he has performed globally in venues like the Concertgebouw Amsterdam and Carnegie Hall. His collaborations with artists such as soprano Katharine Dain have yielded acclaimed albums, including the Edison Award-winning 'Regards sur l’Infini' (2021). Armstrong’s career combines performance, pedagogy, and chamber music advocacy.
Education: Studied under Helen Krizos at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) and Richard Goode at Mannes College of Music in New York. Further mentorship included Leon Fleisher, Menahem Pressler, and masterclasses with luminaries like Murray Perahia.
Research & Teaching: Specializes in keyboard chamber music performance and collaborative art song repertoire. His teaching spans private instruction in New York and London, as well as roles at Junior Trinity Laban and TU Dublin Conservatoire.
