Sally Wilson

Sally Wilson is a PhD Scholar at the Resources, Environment and Development Department under the Crawford School of Public Policy at the Australian National University (ANU). Her research focuses on energy justice and the impacts of mandatory prepayment systems on energy insecurity in remote First Nations communities during Australia’s energy transition and climate change. Her supervisors include Associate Professor Rebecca Colvin, Dr. Lee White, Professor Quentin Grafton, and Dr. Francis Markham.

• Education: Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Laws (Hons), University of Adelaide; Master of Climate Change, ANU (2022 Garnaut Prize recipient).

Her research examines regulatory disparities in energy systems, rooftop solar integration, and the social impacts of prepayment technologies. She has published in Nature Energy and Energy Research & Social Science, addressing energy equity, remote community sustainability, and climate adaptation.

With a decade of legal experience, Sally contributes interdisciplinary expertise to energy justice issues, particularly in Indigenous contexts. She is part of an ANU research team analyzing energy insecurity and transition challenges.
