Dr. Sally Paul is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Social Work and Social Policy at the University of Strathclyde. She teaches on undergraduate and postgraduate social work programs, focusing on bereavement, loss, and research methodologies. Her research emphasizes community resilience in end-of-life care, particularly for marginalized groups like children and individuals in the criminal justice system. Paul holds a PhD in Social Work from the University of Edinburgh and is a registered social worker with the Scottish Social Services Council.
Her research projects include Developing Confident Life Stories About Child Bereavement (£18k funding), exploring comics as tools for storytelling and resilience-building. She has supervised four current doctoral students and two completed PhDs. Paul’s awards include the 2021 HASS Teaching Excellence Award and 2019 Early Career Impact Award. She actively participates in international conferences and collaborates with organizations like Public Health Palliative Care International.
