Dr. Sal Renshaw is a Professor cross-appointed in Gender Equality, Social Justice, and Indigenous Studies at Nipissing University's Faculty of Arts and Science. Her research bridges feminist philosophy, theology, and pedagogy, examining divine love through feminist frameworks and social justice education. She investigates non-human animal ethics through courses like Animal Rites and Sanctuary and Salvation.
Renshaw's scholarship focuses on the intersection of feminist philosophies of the gift, divinity, and love. Her current research includes the homoerotics of trophy hunting and pedagogical innovations for ethical citizenship development. Collaborative research with Renée Valiquette explores interdisciplinary classroom spaces through innovative courses like DIRT, SECRETS, and WATER.
Renshaw earned her BA and PhD from the University of New South Wales. Her publications demonstrate sustained focus on feminist theology and pedagogy, with recent works examining Hélène Cixous' philosophy and interdisciplinary teaching methods.
