Dr. Saileshsingh Gunessee is an Associate Professor in Economics at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China, affiliated with the Department of Finance, Accounting and Economics and the Centre for Decision Research and Experimental Economics China. Since 2007, he has been part of Nottingham University Business School (NUBS) China. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Nottingham's School of Economics.
His research focuses on spatial economics, international business economics, experimental/behavioural economics, and China-related economic issues. Key themes include social preferences, natural disaster impacts on supply chains, CSR globalization, venture capital geography, innovation, and Chinese multinational enterprises' global expansion. He teaches 'Firm Strategy and Internationalisation' at the undergraduate level and has extensive teaching experience in microeconomics and research methods.
Recent research trends reflect interdisciplinary approaches, blending empirical analysis with global economic phenomena. Collaborations span international projects, such as organizing the Africa Research Group's 6th International Conference (2019). His work emphasizes microeconometric analysis of microdata.
Teaching and academic contributions include executive education and supervising PhD students in spatial economics, behavioural economics, and international economics. His projects and publications address emerging markets, corporate governance, and cross-border economic dynamics.
