Sabira Sultana is a PhD candidate and Casual Academic in the School of Education at Charles Sturt University (CSU). Her research focuses on the implementation of education for sustainability through science in Australian secondary schools, exploring teachers' and students' perspectives and practices. She is supported by the AGRTP International Scholarship and inspired by CSU's commitment to sustainability, exemplified by its carbon-neutral certification and the Wiradjuri philosophy of 'Yindyamarra Winhanganha.'
Her academic background includes a Master of Education from the University of Dhaka. As a Casual Academic, she contributes to teaching and research while balancing family life. She is affiliated with the Bangladesh Forum for Educational Development (BAFED) and the Nature Study Club at Dhaka University.
Her study employs a convergent mixed-methods approach, analyzing curriculum documents, surveys, interviews, and focus groups to investigate how sustainability is integrated into science education. This research addresses critical gaps in understanding sustainability education practices in Australian schools.
