Saadlee Shehreen is a Lecturer in Biochemistry at the School of Health and Life Sciences, Teesside University. Previously, she held a junior faculty position at the University of Dhaka (2014-2017) where she received two early career research grants. She earned her PhD from the University of Otago (2017-2021) and completed postdoctoral fellowships at NIH (USA) and Cornell University (USA).

Her work has been published in high-impact journals like Nature Communications and Nucleic Acids Research, with notable contributions to understanding Acinetobacter baumannii resistance mechanisms and CRISPR anti-defense systems. She has developed CRISPR toolkits for fission yeast studies and contributed to crowdsourced genomic analysis platforms.
