SONG Changcheng

SONG Changcheng is an Associate Professor of Finance at the Lee Kong Chian School of Business, Singapore Management University (SMU), currently on leave. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley and a B.A. in Economics from Tsinghua University. His research focuses on household finance decisions, behavioral economics, real estate economics, and experimental methods. He has explored topics such as financial literacy, housing market dynamics, insurance adoption, and the impact of macroprudential policies.

He served as Lee Kong Chian Fellow at SMU (2020–2021) and previously held roles at National University of Singapore (2012–2018). His work has been published in top journals like Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Financial Economics, and Management Science. He is particularly known for field experiments analyzing barriers to financial product adoption and the role of behavioral biases.

Research highlights include studies on agent information advantages in housing markets, superstition-driven housing demand, and the effects of financial education on pension contributions. His recent work examines healthcare IT innovations, home-based entrepreneurship policies, and cross-cultural investing behaviors.
