SANTIAGO LOPEZ MARTINEZ-MORAS

Santiago López Martínez-Morás is a full Professor in the Department of Galician Philology at the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC), affiliated with the Faculty of Philology. He holds a Ph.D. from USC (1996) and specializes in medieval literature, epic traditions, and cultural history with a focus on French and Iberian textual traditions. His research examines topics such as Charlemagne's literary legacy, the Pseudo-Turpin Chronicle, and the intersection of epic poetry with medieval pilgrimage routes like the Camino de Santiago.

Key research areas: Medieval French and Spanish epic literature, historical narratives of Charlemagne and Alexander the Great, textual adaptation in medieval chronicles, and the cultural significance of pilgrimage routes.
