Dr Róisín Blunnie is Associate Professor of Music at Dublin City University's School of Theology, Philosophy, and Music, where she chairs the MA in Choral Studies program and leads Choral Leadership Days. She teaches choral conducting, music theory, aural skills, and music history, while conducting the DCU Lumen Chorale. Her research examines choral music analysis, Edward Elgar's works, and digital pedagogy in music education.
She supervises doctoral research on topics including Ethel Smyth, liturgical music, and Irish choral music. In 2023, she received the IRC Research Ally Award for her contributions to music research. Previously Head of Music at Mater Dei Institute, she founded the Laetare Vocal Ensemble and released the acclaimed album 'Ghost Songs' (2021).
She led the Erasmus+ project PRESTO (2021-23), developing digital learning resources for music education. Her educational background includes:

- MA in Kodály Pedagogy from Liszt Academy
- Advanced Diploma in Choral Conducting
- First-class honours degree in Music and History
