Katherine Hickey is a Professor of Music and Director of the Kodály Center at the Conservatory of Music, School of Performing Arts, University of Redlands. She has served as Past President and Treasurer of the Organization of America Kodály Educators (OAKE) and co-directs the Los Angeles International Liszt Competition for Piano and Voice with Dr. Éva Polgár.

Her research focuses on the Kodály Approach, particularly the contributions of Jenő Ádám to music education. She has conducted extensive work on transcribing Ádám's oral histories about 20th-century musical life in Hungary and Europe, spanning decades of international presentations.
Dr. Hickey has presented at numerous national and international conferences, including the International Kodály Society Symposium in Kecskemét, Hungary, and symposia in Poland, Canada, and Scotland. Her expertise lies in music literacy, choral education, and elementary music pedagogy.
As a third-generation American-Hungarian, she grew up immersed in the cultural and musical traditions of the Hungarian Reformed Church in Los Angeles, CA.
