Dr. Zsuzsanna Polyák serves as a Research Fellow at the Kodály Institute, part of the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, Hungary. She joined the institute in 2004 as a librarian and archivist for the Music Pedagogical Archives, expanded to teaching roles at both the Kodály Institute and Liszt Academy in 2018, and assumed her current research position in 2023.
Her academic credentials include:
- Degrees in Library and Information Science, Hungarian Linguistics and Literature, and Pedagogy from Eötvös Loránd University
- MA in Community Development
- Doctorate in Education (2024) from Eötvös Loránd University’s Theoretical and Historical Pedagogy Doctoral Program
Dr. Polyák specializes in the historical and philosophical dimensions of music education, with dedicated research on the global propagation of the Kodály Concept. Her scholarship examines cross-cultural adaptations of this pedagogical framework, emphasizing its role in democratizing musical literacy through folk music traditions and vocal training methodologies.
