Ryan Z. Farley is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Finance and Director of the Torch Fund Program at the University of Tennessee’s Haslam College of Business. He joined the faculty in 2019, bringing over a decade of industry experience in institutional trading, product development, sales & trading, and technology management. His professional licenses include FINRA Series 7, 63, and 55. Farley holds a PhD in Finance and an MA in Economics from the University of Tennessee, and a BS in Computer Science from Loyola University.

His research focuses on investments and market structure, winning best paper awards from the Financial Management Association and the VSB Mid-Atlantic Research Conference. Farley advises the Torch Fund, an experiential learning program managing student portfolios. He is actively involved in financial education, contributing to WalletHub expert panels on personal loans and financial literacy.
