Dr Ryan Chen is a Senior Lecturer and Program Director of the Master of Occupational Therapy at the University of Sydney's Faculty of Health Sciences. He holds a PhD from the University of Sydney and a BSc in Occupational Therapy from National Taiwan University. His research focuses on ecological momentary assessment (EMA), social participation in disability populations, and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). He leads the development of the PIEL Survey App, a tool for real-time data collection in daily life contexts. Current projects explore dynamic relationships between living environments and subjective experiences across diverse populations. Dr Chen is affiliated with the China Studies Centre and actively contributes to professional organizations like the World Federation of Occupational Therapists and the International Society for Autism Research.
