Dr. Ruxandra Marinescu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Media and Culture Studies at Utrecht University, specializing in Media and Performance Studies. Her research focuses on medieval musicology, particularly the transmission of monophonic music in French court culture (1250-1400), musical lyrics in narratives, and the palaeography of 14th-century music sources.

Current projects include preparing her PhD thesis for publication and exploring intersections of music, gender, and diplomacy under Utrecht University's Institutions for Open Societies research theme.
