Ruth Valentine is a Professor at Newcastle University's Faculty of Medical Sciences, serving as PVC Education (permanent appointment since October 2023) after leading education initiatives since 2019. Her roles include:
- Principal Vice-Chancellor for Education
- Dean of Education (2019-2023)
- Associate Dean for Postgraduate Studies
- Deputy Undergraduate Dean
She focuses on creating inclusive educational strategies and addressing demographic imbalances in Medical Sciences. Ruth has developed innovative outreach programs for schools and championed interprofessional education (IPE) through national research projects on interdisciplinary Schwartz Rounds.
