Ruth Gostelow is a Lecturer in Small Animal Internal Medicine at The Royal Veterinary College (RVC), specializing in feline diabetes mellitus and diabetic remission. She serves as module leader for the BVetMed 4th-year Endocrine module and deputy module leader for the RVC Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice internal medicine B-module. Ruth is a member of the RVC Diabetic Remission Clinic and Hypophysectomy Clinic, with contributions to respiratory medicine via plethysmography implementation.

Her research focuses on feline diabetes genetics, novel monitoring methods (e.g., flash glucose monitoring, RVC Pet Diabetes App), and dietary interventions like the REGLUCAT trial. Recent projects include whole-genome sequencing of Burmese cats to identify diabetes risk factors.
Ruth received the Dechra Early Career Research Award (2017) and the Society for Comparative Endocrinology award (2013). She supervises a PhD scholar investigating feline diabetes genetics and contributes to postgraduate CertAVP and BVetMed examinations.
Clinically, she leads initiatives such as topical antifungal therapy for sinonasal Aspergillosis and is a member of the RVC Radioactive Iodine Therapy team. Her teaching spans undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with a focus on clinical rotations and veterinary education.
