Dr. Ruth Garcia is Associate Professor of English at Citytech, holding a PhD from CUNY Graduate Center. Her scholarship examines representations of service, class, and gender in eighteenth-century literature, with particular focus on women writers. She investigates how domestic service relationships reveal complex power dynamics and social structures in early modern Britain.
Her research encompasses:
- Literary representations of servants and service hierarchies
- Feminist readings of domestic spaces in fiction
- Intersections of class and gender in Restoration literature
- Pedagogical approaches to literature and women's studies
Dr. Garcia teaches courses including Composition, British Literature surveys, Women's Studies, and Gothic Literature.
