Ruth Croxton is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Sunderland, where she joined in 2023. She serves as the recruitment and outreach lead for the School of Psychology. With over two decades of experience in higher education since 2000, Dr. Croxton has taught and conducted research across multiple institutions.
Her educational background includes a PhD in forensic science. She holds several professional certifications:

Dr. Croxton's research spans two primary domains. In educational technology, she focuses on using innovative methods to enhance student learning experiences, with current projects examining the use of memes in teaching and developing virtual reality crime scenes for training. Her forensic science research centers on latent fingermark analysis, including studying fingermark chemistry to derive information about individuals and developing new enhancement techniques for forensic evidence.
