Laura Sexton is a Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Sunderland since January 2023, holding a PhD in Cognitive Psychology (2022) from Teesside University. She completed her BSc (2008) and MSc (2015) at the University of Manchester and Teesside University respectively.
- Research Focus: Face perception and recognition, with specific expertise in biological motion effects (Developmental Prosopagnosia studies), facial ageing impact on identity judgments, and gastrointestinal conditions' influence on facial/emotion recognition.
- Teaching Roles: Deputy Programme Leader for undergraduate psychology, module leader for PSY123, PSYC202, PSYM114, PSYM115, and contributor to modules covering brain-behavior relationships, motivation biases, and research projects.
