Rudy Gutierrez

Rudy Gutierrez is a tenured Professor at Pratt Institute, where he has taught since 1990. An accomplished illustrator and educator of Puerto Rican heritage, he was born in the Bronx, NY, and raised in Teaneck, NJ.

His educational background includes a BFA from Pratt Institute, the same institution where he has built his academic career spanning over three decades.

Gutierrez's creative practice centers on Illustration and Visual Arts, with significant contributions to Children's Literature and Graphic Design. His work bridges art education and cultural expression, appearing in U.S. Postage stamps (Musical Icon Series featuring Jimi Hendrix), album covers for artists like Santana, film productions including 'Chasing Trane: The John Coltrane Documentary', and Super Bowl halftime show set designs.
