Ruby Christine Mathew

Dr. Ruby Christine Mathew is a Lecturer and Lead of the MSc Human Resource Management Programme at York Business School, York St John University. She holds a Doctorate in Management from the University of York (2022) and is a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy (HEA). Her research focuses on gender equality frameworks in academia, organizational culture in higher education, and business sustainability strategies. She has conducted impactful studies on Athena Swan accreditation’s influence on gendered academic environments and contributed to regional net-zero carbon initiatives in North Yorkshire. Dr. Mathew teaches modules such as Global Business Strategy and Sustainable Business Practices, and supervises research students in business and management.

Her work bridges gender studies and organizational behavior, with recent presentations at the University Forum for Human Resource Development and the National College of Ireland. She is a member of York Business School’s PiES research group, examining employment dynamics. Notable publications include analyses of post-pandemic higher education organizational culture and barriers to net-zero transitions in UK businesses.
