Roy Broadfield is a Senior Lecturer in Primary Initial Teacher Education at Newman University's Faculty of Education. He has 32 years of education experience as a teacher, school leader, consultant, and adviser across 17 education authorities. His roles include founding the Impact in Learning program (2005) and leading research funded by the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) on early childhood mathematics pedagogy. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

- B.Ed. (Hons) in Education
Research Interests: Roy focuses on parental engagement in education, early years mathematics pedagogy, and teacher training. His recent work includes evaluating teaching methods for nursery children's math outcomes and supporting schools via the NCETM's Mastering Number program. He collaborates with institutions like the Ryders Hayes Stronger Practice Hub and the Welsh Government's National Academy of Educational Leadership.
