Dr. Rou Wang is a Researcher at the University of Newcastle (Australia), affiliated with the School of Engineering and the Center for Ironmaking Materials Research (CIMR). She holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Newcastle, a Master of Engineering from Dalian University of Technology (China), and a Bachelor of Engineering from Taiyuan University of Technology (China). Her research focuses on advanced carbon materials for energy storage, fluidization behavior in ironmaking processes, and mitigating sticking issues in DRI production through coating materials.
Her work integrates metallurgical processes with materials science, addressing challenges in sustainable iron production and battery technology. Key areas include optimizing carbon-based anodes using Victorian brown coal, developing N-doped porous carbons for high-rate energy storage, and exploring microwave-assisted synthesis of graphene composites.
Dr. Wang has contributed to 12 peer-reviewed articles and a book chapter since 2019, with recent emphasis on reviews of coating materials in ironmaking and characterization techniques for battery materials. Her interdisciplinary approach bridges chemical engineering, materials science, and renewable energy applications.
