Ross Walter is a Professor of Trombone, Euphonium, and Tuba at Virginia Commonwealth University's School of the Arts. He leads a large studio of brass majors and coordinates the brass chamber music program. His roles include teaching undergraduate courses in brass methods and pedagogy, alongside active freelance performance and teaching in Richmond.

Research & Engagement: Walter focuses on global music education and performance, founding the international brass festival in Cartagena, Colombia. He annually leads student trips there to perform, deliver masterclasses, and donate instruments. His work extends to clinics and performances at schools and conferences worldwide.
Performances: He performs with the Palmetto Posaunen (South Carolina) and a Richmond-based trombone quartet. His ensembles emphasize collaborative brass performance and community outreach.
