Mark E. Britt is a Professor of Music and Low Brass at Furman University, serving as Faculty Council Arts Division Representative. He leads Furman’s Music in Italy study abroad program and is a visiting evaluator for NASM. His roles include former Chair of the Music Department, President of the South Carolina Music Educators Association, and Chairman of NAfME’s National Collegiate Advisory Board. He conducts the Palmetto Posaunen trombone choir and has performed internationally with groups like the Spartanburg Philharmonic.

Research & Performance: Britt focuses on chamber music, brass performance, and music education. He has premiered nearly 20 compositions with the Palmetto Posaunen and Zephyr Brass Trio, and his students excel in national competitions. His work spans conducting, adjudication, and educational leadership.

Teaching & Service: Britt has taught at multiple universities and public schools, directed the Montreat Music and Worship Conference 11 times, and maintains active roles in professional music organizations.
