Ross McPhail is an Adjunct Professor and Associate Librarian at the James E. Faust Law Library of the University of Utah College of Law, where he has served since 2006. He teaches legal research components in the first-year legal methods class and advanced legal research courses.

- MLIS in Library and Information Science, University of Wisconsin
His professional expertise spans legal research, legal writing, employment law, and Title VII litigation. Prior to joining the University of Utah, he practiced law for 11 years in Illinois, Missouri, and Utah, with a focus on employment law.
Professor McPhail is actively involved in academic service, including roles in the Utah Academic Library Consortium and the American Association of Law Libraries Wester Pacific Chapter.
