Heather Baxter is a Professor of Law and Director of Legal Research and Writing at Nova Southeastern University's Shepard Broad College of Law. Her roles include teaching Legal Research and Writing I and II, Criminal Procedure, and Appellate Advocacy for Moot Court. She has coached Moot Court teams and served as a Moot Court Faculty Advisor.

Her scholarly interests focus on the Sixth Amendment right to counsel, Fourth Amendment protections against unreasonable searches and seizures, and legal education. Her notable article on Fourth Amendment jurisprudence was selected for the Search and Seizure Law Report in 2022.
Recent trends in her publications emphasize constitutional law, criminal procedure, and legal writing. She serves on the Legal Writing Institute (LWI) Board of Directors as Communications and Public Relations Officer.
