Shannon Roddy

Shannon Roddy is a faculty member at American University's Washington College of Law, serving as the Student Services Librarian since 2015. With prior experience as a family law attorney and clerk at the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, she bridges practical legal expertise with academic librarianship.

Roddy teaches courses in Legal Research & Writing, Advanced Legal Research, and Family Law while maintaining active membership in the American Association of Law Libraries (AALL) and Law Librarians’ Society of Washington, DC (LLSDC).

Prior leadership roles include editorship of Law Library Lights newsletter. Her work examines non-traditional legal collections, digital equity, and pedagogical innovations in legal research instruction.
