Rose-Marie Peake is a Postdoctoral Researcher at Tampere University's Department of History, Philosophy and Literary Studies. Her research focuses on queer and gendered aspects of religious and social history, particularly in early modern France and medieval Europe. She holds a Doctoral degree (2015) from the University of Helsinki and has published extensively on topics such as Catholic religious orders, gendered charity work, and queer methodologies in historical research.
Key publications include The Daughters of Charity and Moral Management in Seventeenth-Century France (2015), an edited volume Lived Religion and Everyday Life in Early Modern Hagiographic Material (2019), and recent articles exploring queer historiography and early Christian texts. Her work integrates interdisciplinary approaches to analyze religious institutions, gender roles, and marginalized identities in historical contexts.
Peake has contributed to both academic journals and public-facing publications, including editorial roles in Historiallinen aikakauskirja and SQS: Suomen Queer-tutkimuksen Seuran lehti. Her research bridges religious studies, gender studies, and social history, often focusing on under-represented groups such as medieval beguines and early modern religious women.
