She maintains active research collaborations with scholars at Florida State University, University of Chicago, University of Melbourne, Harvard Law School, and New York University.
Professor Dixon's research focuses on constitutional design, amendment processes, judicial review, and the protection of rights through constitutional mechanisms. Her work examines the tension between strong-form and weak-form judicial review, constitutional responses to democratic erosion, and the global diffusion of constitutional ideas. She has made significant contributions to understanding abusive constitutionalism and the role of courts in constitutional democracies.
Her recent publications (2023-2025) address pressing contemporary issues including judicial reform in Israel, restorative constitutionalism in the context of democratic backsliding, and the implications of the Dobbs decision for American constitutional democracy. Her research demonstrates how constitutional design can either protect or undermine democratic institutions.
Professor Dixon's scholarly impact is reflected in her extensive publication record of 52 papers with significant citations. Her work appears in leading law journals including the European Journal of Empirical Legal Studies, Wake Forest Law Review, and International Journal of Constitutional Law.
As an active researcher and collaborator, Professor Dixon contributes to the global constitutional law discourse through her innovative approaches to constitutional comparison and her analysis of constitutional developments across multiple jurisdictions including the United States, Canada, South Africa, Israel, Chile, and Japan.
