معرفی
Ronny Neumann is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Organic Chemistry at the Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel. He has held academic positions since 1982, including roles at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Princeton University (as a postdoc). His research focuses on catalysis, catalytic processes, and materials science, with over 195 peer-reviewed papers and 7 patents.
- Education: Ph.D. in Chemistry (1985), B.Sc. in Chemistry and Biochemistry (1976), both from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
- Key Roles: Head of Department of Organic Chemistry (2005–present), Rebecca and Israel Sieff Professorial Chair (2002–present).
Research Interests: Catalytic oxidation, activation of molecular oxygen, photoreduction of CO₂, polyoxometalates, and organic chemistry in water. His work bridges inorganic-organic hybrid materials and synthetic fuel production from carbohydrates.
Awards: Includes the Zarchin Prize (1983), Israel Chemical Society Prize (1990), and the prestigious Sieff Professorial Chair (2002).
Advising & Grants: Supervised 55 graduate students and delivered 60 invited lectures. Organized international symposia on metal oxide clusters and oxidation catalysis.
