Ronald Marks is a Visiting Professor at the Schar School of Policy and Government at George Mason University, appointed in 2021. He brings over 38 years of experience from the U.S. Intelligence Community, including roles at the CIA and on Capitol Hill, to his academic work focusing on national security and technology.
His research interests center on the intersection of public policy and national security in the digital age. He has conducted seminars on 'Spying in the Cyber Age' as the 2020 Dole Fellow at the University of Kansas. His expertise includes cyber doctrine, intelligence strategy, federal market entry, and government relations.
He was honored as the Spring 2020 Dole Fellow at the University of Kansas' Robert J. Dole Institute of Politics.
Ronald Marks has advised government and corporate policymakers through his leadership roles in private firms. He served as president of Intelligence Enterprises, LLC, and as director of the Washington, D.C. office for Oxford Analytica. He currently leads ZPN Cyber and National Security Strategies as its president and chief adviser.
He contributed Chapter 13, 'Providing for the Common Defense,' to the publication '#CyberDoc No-Borders-No Boundaries – A National Doctrine in the Cyber Era' (Potomac Institute Press, 2012), produced under the Battelle Memorial Institute’s National Cyber Doctrine Program, where he served as program director from 2011 to 2014.
