James P. Danoy is an adjunct faculty member at the Schar School of Policy and Government, George Mason University, where he teaches on the role of intelligence in national security.
His educational background includes:
- Bachelor’s degree in government and politics from George Mason University
- Master’s degree in modern European history from George Mason University
- Master’s degree in national resource strategy from the National Defense University (Distinguished Graduate)
- Associate in applied science degree in police science
Dr. Danoy's research and professional interests focus on intelligence collection and analysis, defense and security, Europe, Eurasia, and NATO, as well as violent extremism. His expertise is built upon decades of experience in the U.S. intelligence community, particularly in geospatial intelligence, current and crisis intelligence, long-term research, and foreign intelligence relationships. He has held senior positions at key institutions including the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, U.S. European Command, NATO, CIA, FBI, and the White House.
