Josh Jaffe is a probationary PhD researcher in the part-time DPhil in Information, Communication, and the Social Sciences at the Oxford Internet Institute (Oxford University). He concurrently serves as Chief Security Officer for Dell’s consumer businesses and previously held leadership roles as Global Chief Information Security Officer at Daimler Mobility AG and Director of Information Security Risk at Emerson Electric. His professional expertise spans cybersecurity in global enterprises, government intelligence (CIA, NSA), and advisory roles for startups and investors. Jaffe is a leader in the World Economic Forum’s Partnership Against Cyber Crime, focusing on ransomware mitigation, and President of the Global Center for Cyber Security, which expands cybersecurity education and career access for underrepresented communities.
His academic work integrates cybersecurity with social sciences, addressing digital governance and emerging technologies’ societal impacts. He actively advises on cyber risk strategies and talent development initiatives, bridging academic research with industry and policy challenges.
