Ron Holzhacker is a Professor affiliated with the Faculty of Arts and Faculty of Spatial Sciences. He is associated with the Center for International Relations Research (CIRR) and the Urban and Regional Studies Institute (URSI). His research focuses on Human Rights, South East Asia, and Sustainable Development, particularly addressing climate resilience and urban planning in Southeast Asia. Holzhacker has contributed to 65 research outputs, including chapters on port sustainability and urban climate adaptation. He organized events like the Wubbo Ockels School for Energy and Climate Annual Event and the ICC Judge Pangalangan lecture. Supervised 9 academic works without listed student names. His activities include visiting universities and contributing to UNRISD initiatives. He co-edited a book on transformative urban futures in Southeast Asia.
Research interests emphasize Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), climate governance in cities, and transnational policy frameworks. Recent articles analyze port environmental impact, integrated urban water management, and climate resilience strategies in Indonesian cities. Holzhacker collaborates internationally, engaging with institutions in the Philippines and Southeast Asia.
