معرفی
Roger Appelqvist is an active Research Fellow at Lund University's Division for Biomedical Engineering within the Faculty of Engineering, concurrently affiliated with Clinical Protein Science and Imaging and the Lund University Cancer Centre (LUCC). His work integrates proteomics, metabolomics, and clinical oncology to advance precision cancer diagnostics and therapeutics.
His research spans proteomic profiling of melanoma, mitochondrial dysfunction in cancer progression, and metabolic responses to hormonal therapies. Key focus areas include:
- Identification of biomarkers for melanoma severity and treatment response
- Development of biobanking strategies for translational cancer research
- Drug repurposing through ferroptosis induction and kinase inhibition
Analysis of his 2022-2025 publications reveals strong emphasis on multi-omics approaches to metastatic melanoma, with emerging work on testosterone-related metabolic pathways. His collaborations span 12 international institutions, reflecting significant network integration in cancer proteomics.
Appelqvist actively contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals through clinical medicine research targeting cancer diagnostics and personalized treatment strategies.
He maintains robust external collaborations across Europe and North America, with recent publications generating substantial attention including 14 news outlet pickups and Bluesky/X discussions. His work leverages Lund University's European Cancer Moonshot Lund Center infrastructure for high-impact translational research.
