Rodrigo Delgado

Dr. Rodrigo Delgado is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Freiburg Materials Research Center (FMF), University of Freiburg. His research focuses on developing advanced energy systems, particularly multi-junction solar cells and photo-electrochemical devices for powering small IoT applications. He has explored integration modes for energy harvesting and storage, including monolithic integration and multifunctional materials.

• Current Project: SolStore II - Enhancing energy density in photo-electrochemical devices.
• PhD Project: SolStore - Developed photo-batteries and supercapacitors for IoT, proposing a novel figure of merit for performance assessment.

His research interests emphasize organic electronics, energy storage systems, and material science innovations. Key outcomes include the successful demonstration of mode II and III devices, which combine solar harvesting with energy storage. He has also investigated phenothiazine-based polymers for multifunctional energy applications.

Dr. Delgado's work is supported by the German Research Foundation (DFG) under Germany’s Excellence Strategy. He collaborates with the FMF team, led by Dr. Uli Würfel, and contributes to advancing sustainable energy solutions.
