Joel Matthews

Joel Matthews is a Hermann Staudinger Fellow at the University of Freiburg's Institute of Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry, affiliated with the Cluster of Excellence liv MatS and Freiburg Center for Interactive Materials and Bioinspired Technologies. His research focuses on the electrochemistry and photo-electrochemistry of halide perovskites for integrated energy conversion and storage devices.

Current SolStore initiative project aims to develop monolithic photo-charging batteries using halide perovskites as cathode materials. Research examines lithium intercalation dynamics, stability enhancement strategies, and electrochemical properties of 2D/3D perovskite structures.
