Roch Yao Gnabeli

Professor Roch Yao Gnabeli serves as Director of the LAASSE Research Laboratory (Laboratory of Economic Sociology and Anthropology of Symbolic Belongings) at Félix Houphouet Boigny University in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, and directs the "Ivorian Studies" collection within the Virtual Library of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Côte d'Ivoire.

His research centers on Economic Sociology and the Anthropology of Symbolic Belongings, examining socio-cultural dynamics in Ivorian society through frameworks of African Studies and Ivorian Studies. This work investigates how economic structures intersect with cultural identity and social belonging in West Africa, emphasizing localized epistemological approaches to social sciences.

The LAASSE laboratory operates in collaboration with the Network of Young Volunteer Researchers of the Classics of the Social Sciences in Côte d'Ivoire, an association founded by sociologist Gethème Irié. This initiative supports academic publishing across three sections: Classical Authors, Contemporary Authors, and Dissertations/Theses by emerging researchers, with all materials digitized in Word, PDF, and RTF formats.
